Here is a picture of my Word Study journal. Notice there is a list A and B. (This is based on the pretest before students get their next sort.) Students who score a 90% or better take another test to determine which words are best for them. Your child can bing their journal home nightly to study and complete one of the activities. They will know if they are list A or B. Our test will be next Friday (Oct. 10). We work on a sort for 2 weeks, so this is their third sort for the year. Since most of our words this week are homophones, notice I drew tiny pictures beside the words to help us remember the meaning. (That was their idea!)
