We are at my parent' house for a few days. I hope everyone else is enjoying their Spring Break! Here are a few pictures: So all of my students know that while we set our own eggs in an incubator, the mommy hens of our chicks set on eggs themselves. My Dad just updated me, and the hens have hatched 5 chicks so far!
It was so nice today, we decided to take our opinion writing on the road to the outdoor classroom. I think we are all hoping to do this again! Also, we moved our cabbage plants to the outdoor classroom yesterday. The soil looks great after Mr. Johnson fixed it. How are the cabbage plants growing at home? One of our bush bean plants are flowering! I hope that we have bean pods soon! In math, we have been working on a project to design a dream classroom using geometric figures! Students are using various quadrilaterals such as: trapezoids, parallelograms, rectangles, and squares. I cannot wait to see the end product. Here is a sample:
So, I figured I'd post an update on the newest chick since it isn't viewable on the webcam. It woke me up several times in the night chirping loudly. However, today it was been very quiet. It is eating and drinking fine, but just looks so lonely. I read that it is good to put something soft or fluffy with a chick that is by itself. It has been chirping a little since putting the two pairs of socks with it. Hopefully the fuzzy socks will make the chick feel more cozy.
